Ultra Blue Culinary Lavender Buds – Organic French Lavender | Lavandula angustifolia | Gourmet Grade for Baking, Syrups & Cocktails

Vibrant, fragrant, and deeply flavorful—this premium French lavender is the lavender of choice for chefs, mixologists, and artisan kitchens.

Herbal Overview

For those who crave the best of the best, this Ultra Blue Culinary Lavender is the gold standard. Hand-harvested in Provence, France, and organically grown, these buds are triple-cleaned and professionally dried to maintain their deep indigo color and sweet, camphorous aroma.

With a bold scent and potent flavor, Lavandula angustifolia in its finest form brings a layer of elegance to everything from simple syrups and shortbread cookies to roasted vegetables and gourmet lamb dishes. Long-lasting and richly aromatic, these buds are meant for the kitchen—not the craft table.

This is the lavender you keep in a glass jar with pride, knowing it will lift anything you cook into something beautiful, floral, and unforgettable.

Stillroom Notes

This is not the lavender we use in soaps, sachets, or crafting—it’s far too special. Ultra Blue is reserved for your kitchen and bar, where it shines brightest. Keep it dry, use it often, and you’ll find yourself reaching for it more than you’d ever expect.

Simple Recipe

Lavender Simple Syrup
– 1 cup water
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– 2 tbsp Ultra Blue Culinary Lavender

Bring sugar and water to a simmer, stirring until dissolved. Add lavender and simmer 5–10 minutes. Taste for strength. Let cool, strain, and store in a bottle in the fridge.

Try it in:
– Lemonades and iced tea
– Over vanilla cake or scones
– Cocktails like Lavender Gin Fizz or Lavender Collins

A Farm Story: The Lavender Soap Lesson

When I first started making soap nearly 30 years ago, I was certain that adding fresh lavender buds would be beautiful. What I didn’t know is that those lovely blue blossoms would turn completely black during the hot process cure—like little mouse droppings! That batch didn’t make it to the market table, but the scent was as lovely as ever, and it taught me an unforgettable lesson about what to use where.
Today, I’ve perfected the art of lavender soaps—but not with Ultra Blue. This lavender belongs in the kitchen, not the cure pot.

Memories of the Camino
Format: Paperback
First off, I have to say that my husband and I know Angela, the author. We met her because she is a neighbor of my sister, living in Hawaii. We discovered that she planned to walk the Camino de Santiago de Compostela the same year we were (2016) ! On a visit to Hawaii, we met with Angela and did a little local hike together. She was so enthusiastic and had prepared well. We, too, had been reading up and watching videos, getting suggestions as to what to bring, how to deal with physical issues and weather, what to pack and what not to pack, etc. Still, for anyone doing the Camino - whether the WHOLE 500 miles or doing the required 100 km to get the certificate at the final destination: Santiago de Compostela, Spain - it is a very personal endeavor. Reading Angela Leslee's book gives you the personal story of her "camino," and it is captivating. The changes that take place in her life - the discoveries she makes, the people she meets, the failures she feels, the fears, the habits that get broken (such as food choices!) - all make for an adventure that is life-changing and an interesting read. For anyone considering this pilgrimage, because that's what it is, this book will inspire you. You don't need to be part of a "group." You don't need a lot of plans. You do need to be prepared to be changed. The memory for myself and my husband is that it is the best shared experience we have had together in our 50 years of marriage! Angela's book brought back so many wonderful memories for us. I highly recommend this book.

Feeling Inspired!
Format: Paperback
Reading "The Way of Love" has inspired and encouraged me as I plan for my first (solo) Camino. I thank Angela Leslee for being unafraid to bare all the emotions in her book: the joys, victories, setbacks, disappointments, and pain. It's evident that "The Way of Love" was a labor of love as page after page recounts the 500 miles she walked! I told the author in an email that, in September, when I walk my Camino, I'll be sure to be up and out on the trail "...before sunrise when the yellow street lights cast their magical glow." Can't wait to experience that! "The Way of Love" -- easy to read and enjoy.

the good, the bad, the funny, the reality
Format: Kindle
A great memoir of an “older” woman walking the Camino de Santiago alone. Alone but with many friendships along the way.

An Honest Tale
Format: Kindle
When someone you know writes a heart-felt story of a journey of self-discovery, it's startling to realize how little you knew of their self. Walking the Camino across Spain in 40 days of pain and revelations, Angela takes us on an epic journey into her soul. She marvels, delights, laughs, and cries at the breath-taking scenery, the scents of forests and fields of flowers and grasses, the fellow pilgrims she meets and re-encounters across the 40 days. Day by day we travel with her. Her account of everyday life on the journey is vivid. I recommend this book to everyone who has been, or wants to go, on a voyage of self-examination, who wants to question why they are living in the way they are. Maybe life could be different, if one took time to try a different way.
